Traveling to Milwaukee

Call To Action 2011 National Conference returns to the heart of downtown Milwaukee, in close proximity to a wide range of hotels, restaurants, museums, shopping and attractions along Lake Michigan. The recently renamed Frontier Airlines Center, Milwaukee’s downtown convention center, is located at 400 W. Wisconsin Ave, and is a fully accessible venue.

Traveling by Train or Bus

Bus options include Greyhound Bus (800-231-2222 or www.greyhound.com) or the very low-cost & comfortable Megabus (877-462-6342 or www.megabus.com). Train travel is also available through Amtrak (800-872-7245 or www.amtrak.com). The Milwaukee Intermodal Station is just a few blocks from the convention center and hotels.

Discounted Airport Shuttles for Conference Attendees

Call To Action attendees can receive a very special discounted rate for shuttles traveling between all area airports, including Milwaukee's General Mitchell International Airport (MKE), Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD), and Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW), and the Call To Action Conference at the Frontier Airlines Center in downtown Milwaukee. In order to receive this rate and to make your reservation, click here.

Hotel Accommodations

Exclusive discounts for Call To Action conference attendees are available at the following downtown hotels. Make your reservations early, as the discounted rooms are limited, and mention Call To Action to get the discounted rates. All hotels are located in very close proximity to the convention center, and the first two are connected directly by skywalk.

Caucus and Special Event Applications

Call to Action invites groups and individuals to hold caucuses, receptions, and other special meetings at the conference. Please return this completed application (Word document) by September 1st to ensure your caucus or special event is listed in the program book.

Wide Open Friday Applications

Authors discussing their books. Individuals leading discussions on controversial topics, conference vendors - all happening at once! You can sign up to facilitate a 30 minute round-table discussion by returning this completed application (Word Document) or emailing HeinemanCTA@cta-usa.org. The deadline for registering to host a discussion is September 1st.

Liturgy and Eucharist

“David and all Israel danced before God with great enthusiasm!” (First Book of Chronicles) The Liturgy Team invites and calls you to move in the Spirit together as we live the Gospel of Love at Conference 2011! Last year, you didn’t have to be an artist to love a prophet. This year you don’t have to be a dancer to move with the Spirit. Dance has been a form of worship for millennia. We pray with our hearts, our minds, and our bodies. So come to Conference 2011 with a free spirit, to move as you are moved and able – from your seat or in the aisles as we celebrate together!
Please check the box on your registration form if you wish to be a Eucharistic Minister, usher or member of the choir for the closing Eucharist on Sunday.

Conference for the Whole Family: Children's and Teens' Programs

Do you have children or grandchildren? Nieces or nephews? Bring them to conference! Every year, Call To Action hosts programs for family members age 3 and up. Facilitated by professional and caring staff, children and teens take part in a variety of activities geared towards their specific age level while offering them opportunities to explore the Christian message of love and justice through the conference theme. Younger children participate in arts and crafts, music, games and other fun activities. Our teen program includes opportunities to participate in conference workshops while also enjoying specific programming designed just for them. Children and teens must be pre-registered to participate in the weekend events. Schedules will be sent to each family with a registered child or teen after August 15.
